Olympic Feats (err, Arms)

The lovely Rebecca (of Larocque and Roll) and I are hosting a little KAL. Specifically, the

We've been talking about this for a while, and had plans to move full-speed ahead with a mini knitalong. But, then, (all hail the) Yarn Harlot posted her Olympic Challenge and we went back to our drawing boards. So, we're having a knitalong within a knitalong (see Rebecca's post here).

We want to be Olympians, too, and we're naming our sport -- curling. Handwarmers go with curling, right? Just enough to keep your hands warm and give you enough traction to keep a hole of your rock. Or pencil. Or type in a cold office. Whatever your sport is, if you're into handwarmers, join us!

Here's how: Grab the button, send an email to either rlarocque *at* gmail dot com or myself at canknitian *at* gmail dot com and state your intentions. We'd love to have you on our team!

Mlle Larocqueandroll and I are using the Stitch n Bitch Nation "Hurry Up Spring Handwarmers" pattern and our choices of Noro.

Speaking of Noro, you might remember that I was going to use the Noro I bought at Christmas. I wound it into balls last week and I gotta say, I don't think they're going to match quite enough. They're the same colour, and I know it's handpainted, but...

See what I mean?

So, I bought some new Noro (170) at Tangled Skeins the other day and feel a little more hopeful. At first glance, they look like a much closer match.

The Olympic flame will be lit on February 10th. I won't start before then, but I *am* going to knit a swatch of the cable pattern using the original Noro in the meantime.

If you have time (very hard to say, I know, with the new baby), you should join us. :)

Speaking of which -- hey Baby! if you've got time, join us! It's nice out here, and Mummy's anxious to get on with the show...I mean, meet you. ;)
